GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Swiss Language Group SA - Language courses: French

  1. The contract is personal, but may be permanently transferred to a third party on a one-off basis, if the third party agrees to take over the contract on the same terms. The agreement of Swiss Language Group Ltd. remains reserved. A registration/licence fee for the registration of the new student will be required.
  2. Periods of absence (illness, military service, business travel) can be recovered in full by means of a medical certificate, a marching order or another document (letter from the employer). Any student with a contract of at least 3 months can suspend their contract and extend the end date. The following extensions are offered with supporting documents (minimum one week per request):
Duration of the contract : 3 months 6 months 9 months 12 months and more
Duration of suspension: 1 week 2 weeks 3 weeks 4 weeks

Any balance from a previous contract cannot be used. The announcement must mention the date of departure and return to the course at the latest 3 days before the first day of suspension. The student is responsible for any licence renewal fees due to the absence. The benefits set out in this clause are only valid if the student has not fallen into arrears with his/her course payments.

  1. In the event of force majeure, the contract may be partially cancelled (early termination) upon presentation of supporting documentation. The request must be made by registered letter and the management reserves the right to examine each request and to accept or refuse it. Regardless of the method of payment, the registration fee and the school fees for the period up to the receipt of the request and the supporting document are due and will not be refunded. Only the next period can be cancelled under the conditions mentioned above. A minimum of CHF 150.00 will be charged as an administration fee for any cancellation. A medical certificate of indefinite duration is not accepted. This clause does not apply to 1, 2 and 3 month courses.

  2. In the event of late payment, Swiss Language Group Ltd. will charge an administration fee of CHF 20.00 for the second reminder and CHF 50.00 for the final reminder. On the expiry of the last reminder, collection proceedings will be initiated. The debtor will be charged the costs of this procedure.

  3. Cancellation of courses

    • Subscription/modules: a minimum of 24 hours' notice is required if the student is unable to attend a course. If no notice is given, a fee of CHF 50 will be charged.
    • Private courses: a cancellation 24 hours in advance is required. In the event of unjustified absences or late notification, the booked time will be lost.
  4. Swiss Language Group Ltd. is not liable for any theft on its premises.

  5. Swiss Language Group Ltd. reserves the right to exclude without compensation any student who does not respect the rules of good manners and disrupts the course.

  6. Swiss Language Group Ltd. reserves the right to close its premises during public holidays and bank holidays, in particular during the end-of-year celebrations. This closure is not considered a period of absence. In the event of renovation, relocation or major works, the closure of the premises may be longer and will give rise to an equivalent extension of the contract.

  7. Swiss Language Group Ltd. reserves the right to change the timetable and course dates at any time to meet the needs of the students.

  8. Swiss Language Group Ltd. may unilaterally amend these terms and conditions, the most recent version of which is available from the administration of your centre.
